On our second day in Zermatt, Parminder and I hiked from Zermatt to Schonbielhutte, one of the classic walks in the Alps. The walk provides a close view of the north face and the huge base of Matterhorn. The Schonbiel hut (2694m) is maintained by Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) and surrounded by 4000m peaks and many glaciers.
