Lake Constance
I visited Lake Constance (Bodensee in German) on 15th July, 2003. Though my original intention was to visit the city of Constance (Konstanz), I changed my plan once I reached there. Instead I visited Meersburg and Mainau Island. Meersburg is a pretty little town with terraced streets lined with flowers and half-timbered houses. It also has the oldest intact castle in Germany, Altes Schloss. The island of Mainau is actually a tropical garden established by the royal house of Sweden. Apart from being a rainbow of flowers, the island also has an interesting butterfly house.
